WHO WE ARE
Bonne Health Development Initiative (BHDI) is a Non–governmental organization. It applies expertise in the field of Medicine, Social and behavioral sciences to solve the numerous health problems of the societies with the aim of improving the health of the community. (BHDI) is registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission in Nigeria (CAC /IT/No: 83840).
Bonne Health Development Initiative (BHDI) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization, with headquarters in Abuja, FCT and Zonal office in Ibadan-Oyo state. Its policies and programmes are formulated and coordinated primarily by a Board of Directors, while its day-to-day management and activities are overseen by an Executive Director/CEO. A Board of Trustees provides general guidance to the organization.
WHAT WE DO
BHDI’s areas of focus are on, Research, Capacity Building/Training, monitoring and evaluation services on health issues like Neonatal and child health, maternal health, reproductive and sexual health, health system strengthening, policy and strategy, advocacy for uptake of services and disease prevention. BHDI activities are spread in all the states of Nigeria.
The organization works through Advocacy, Community development, Capacity building, Media programmes, and Social Mobilization to achieve its programmes. BHDI has carried out projects on health relating to HIV & AIDS, Family Planning and Contraception, Reproductive Health Counselling, Research, Monitoring and Evaluation, School Health Programmes, Skill acquisition, and so much more.
Our Services
Capacity Building/Training
BHDI conducts formal and informal training programs on infectious diseases (e.g. HIV/AIDS, Malaria, TB, Hepatitis) and promotes entrepreneurship and financial independence for women and youth in rural areas.
Monitoring and Evaluation Services
Offers professional M&E services for health-related programs (maternal, neonatal, reproductive health, etc.). Utilizes modern statistical software (CSPro, SPSS, STATA) for data capturing, analysis, and error tracking.
Policy and Strategy
Develops implementation frameworks and concept notes for health strategies. Advocates for laws and policies protecting community health and Works with local and international agencies to promote health system strengthening.
Community Development
Implements poverty alleviation and sustainable development programs. Encourages information dissemination, education, and self-improvement in rural communities and promotes community-driven health enhancements like environmental education and tree planting.
Health Intervention and Consultancy
Provides health outreach programs including free medical treatment and public health education. Engages in health projects tackling HIV/AIDS, Malaria, Malnutrition, Cancer, CVDs, Diabetes, etc. Offers consultancy in research, M&E, survey design, and clinical medicine.
Research and Advocacy
Conducts health-related research across Nigeria, focusing on neonatal, child, and maternal health. Advocates for increased service uptake and preventive health behavior. Disseminates innovative findings to influence policy-making.
